If you dream about your fans singing their hearts out to your songs over and over again, then you need to meet them where they’re at: on the streaming platforms that have synchronized lyrics available.

Now that Apple has released Apple Sing and thousands are trying out the new "sing along" mode, it’s more important than ever for you to get your lyrics online and make sure they’re synced with Apple Music.

Here’s what you need to know!

What is Apple Sing?

Apple Sing is a new feature that Apple released in December 2022 as part of their streaming service. Available on iPhones and iPads equipped with the latest Apple operating system, Apple Sing transforms devices into portable karaoke machines, enabling subscribers to become the star of the show with real-time lyrics and adjustable vocals.

Using vocal-erasing processors, Sing can create a version of any song in the Apple Music library that users can sing along to, unlike traditional karaoke machines that are typically limited to a much smaller catalog of songs (not to mention, much lower quality versions of them, too.)

In other words, this means that subscribers can now:

  • Sing along to their favorite songs with lyrics that are synced to the rhythm of the vocals
  • Drag a slider up and down to adjust how loud they want the singer’s voice to be
  • Use the duet view to separate parts of a song that is performed by multiple people
  • Highlight background vocals to make it easier to sing those instead

On top of the new feature, Apple Music also launched a package of more than 50 playlists full of songs that have been optimized for the Apple Sing experience, promising that tens of millions of songs will follow.

Benefits of syncing your lyrics on Apple Sing

Apple Music has 95 million users worldwide, an impressive number that is expected to continue rising, hitting 108 million in 2023 and 121 million in 2024.  It’s also the most popular music streaming service in the United States and is available in 167 countries worldwide.

Finally, at $0.1 per stream, Apple Music pays almost double the amount of money per stream than some other major DSPs do. So why not invest some time and energy into making sure your digital presence on the platform is as seamless as possible?

After all, with Apple Sing coming out and incentivizing their huge user base to listen to their favorite songs over and over again, you want to make sure your lyrics are uploaded and synced with the platform to benefit from this traffic too.

Apart from that, having your lyrics online correctly also:
